Have you ever said "nah, I don't want pictures of my kid."  Probably not.  Photographing your child at any and all ages is a great idea!  I mean let's face it...they are rapidly growing and changing whether we want them to or not!  Maybe they are heading to middle school, or it's their sweet 16, or this is the year you definitely want to get those professional pictures of them...I can help.  Trust me, my kids have grown up with a camera in their face and I love the fact that I have tons of pictures of them!
